Jimmy first tried waterskiing in 2019 on holiday with family friends and immediately fell in love with the sport. After a summer spent learning the basics, he started training with coach Nick McGarry at the Waterski Academy in Whitworth, Lancashire, where he learnt all three waterski disciplines: slalom, trick and jump.
Jimmy started competing in 2021 and entered the British Nationals where he won the U12 Trick title and placed third overall. In 2022, Jimmy improved on his performance and again won the U12 Trick title but also won the Overall title to make him 2022 U12 British Waterskiing Champion. Jimmy was also delighted to be named as a GB U14 squad member for the first time and is now working towards selection for the British team.
As Jimmy continues on his skiing journey, he is lucky to have a supportive sponsorĀ UK Digital Marketing. Water skiing is an expensive sport that does not attract high levels of funding, so help with travel, equipment or funding is very much needed. If you or your organisation are able to support Jimmy on his journey in any way, please get in touch.
